Its TONIC DAY!
Manuka honey is known for soothing a sore throat. It also has antiviral properties.
Garlic has antiviral and antibacterial properties. One clove contains small amounts of Manganese, B6, Vitamin C and Selenium. Studies have shown garlic can reduce the effects and duration of the common cold.
Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnemaldehyde, one of the main active components, may help against various kinds of infections. It has also been shown to help with respiratory infections caused by fungi. It may inhibit the growth of certain types of bacteria.
Thieves, Lemon and Exodus II oil have antiviral, antibacterial, and anti fungal properties.
Longevity oil has powerful antioxidant properties.
I have been making this cough/cold/immune boosting Tonic for quite awhile. It can be taken daily to enhance the immune system, one tablespoon every morning. Or as frequently as every 3-4 hours to help reduce the symptoms of an acute illness.
I try to restock my supply every 6-8 weeks. Today was THAT DAY! I have had cinnamon sticks soaking in 2 Core water bottles for the past 2 months. I am using these bottles as the base for my tonic. I added 2 more bottles with 1 cinnamon stick in each bottle so they will be ready in 2 months!
LET THE FUN BEGIN.....
What you will need:
-4 mason jars with lids
-Electrolyte infused water that has had a Cinnamon stick soaking it in for a minimum of 4 weeks, preferably 6-12 weeks.
-4 cloves of garlic, sliced thinly
-Lemon, sliced in 4 slices, remove seeds
-Thieves Essential Oil, 10 drops per jar
-Lemon Essential Oil, 10 drops per jar
-Exodus II Essential Oil, 5 drops per jar
-Longevity Essential Oil, 3 drops per jar
-Manuka Honey, 1 tsp per jar
-4 Cinnamon sticks
-Additional water to fill the jars
-(Optional) 1/4 Ounce Tequila
Slice lemon and place 1-2 slices in each jar. Slice each clove of garlic and place the entire sliced clove in each jar. Add 1tsp of Manuka Honey. (You can increase to 2 if desired.) Pour the Cinnamon water, divided evenly between all jars. (If the water doesn't completely fill each jar, you can add plain bottled water to fill the remaining space.) Put the specified number of drops of essential oils to each jar, add a cinnamon stick to each jar. You can add 1/4 ounce of tequila if you choose.
* Let this "sit" for 7-10 days.
*Sterilize 4 new jars, strain the liquid into the new jars using a strainer to catch the larger pieces of garlic and lemon. (You can choose to leave or remove the Cinnamon stick.) Seal with new lids. The tonic may be slightly cloudy or have small particles of lemon or garlic remaining.
This will keep for 1-2 months in the refrigerator.
